Black had previously said he would not seek a presidential pardon. U.S. President George Bush leaves office in January. Most presidents have pardoned individuals, particularly if they've been politically loyal. Black holds conservative political views and Bush is a conservative Republican.Wow. Now that is news! Scooter Libby will be glad to hear it! Let's pass the word along to Oliver North and Jim "Guy" Tucker. Maybe Albert Fall can take hope from the grave. And congrats to G. Gordon Liddy!

CTV National News reports that Conrad Black has lost an appeal in a U.S. Circuit Court. Convicted on three counts of fraud and one count of obstruction of justice -- and acquitted on nine others -- the 63-year-old insists that he is innocent. The question now seems to be just how much of his six and a half year sentence he will servce. Perhaps the most startling news in the report comes here:
