The President: The Geography of Bush's Pardons

Here are some data on the distribution of President Bush's clemency decisions (157 pardons and 6 commutations of sentence) by state and color-coded via the electoral votes of 2004. The state with the highest number of pardons is Bush's home state of Texas. To date, 8 of the top 10 states featuing pardons are red. In addition, about 70 percent of the total number of pardons and commutations have come from red states.
