Watch List: Tribune on Ryan

Among other things, John Kass of the Chicago Tribune writes today:

Federal inmate 16627-424 is former Gov. George Ryan who now spends his time in the federal institution in Terre Haute, Ind. He was convicted of corruption, allowing the political scorecard to read Illinois Governors 3, Chicago Mayors 0. Ryan is scheduled for release in 2013. Will the bipartisan Illinois Combine beg Bush for a pardon?

Federal inmate 14597-424 is Ryan's pal, convicted businessman Larry Warner. He made money through his Ryan connection and gave Ryan a few tiny crumbs. But it's Ryan who sits while Warner has a projected release date next October. That means he could be at a federal halfway house near you by spring and back at the steakhouses for lunch. Who says crime doesn't pay?
