But it's unclear whether Stevens even intends to ask for a pardon -- and the prospect of Bush circumventing his customary clemency procedures to pardon Stevens is unlikely. It's even less likely under a Democratic president.OK. Maybe they do things different up there in Alaaska, but we read that to mean Stevens never really was in "the question," except in the minds of those with the most extraodrinary imaginations.
