Illinois: Governor Discovers Pardon Power

If there is anything more amazing than the screws being placed on Rod Blagojevich (D) to resign, it is the new found interest that he has in the pardon power. The Chicago Daily Herald reports:

Blagojevich told reporters before a Wednesday morning jog that he was "dying" to address the criminal charges against him and calls for his resignation.

He said, "Hang loose," and predicted he would speak publicly on the matter by today. Blagojevich went through 60 clemency petitions today, authorizing some and rejecting others, Guerrero said. No further information was available.
