The parents of John Walker Lindh (see our Pardon Watch List) are calling on President Bush to commute their son's 20-year prison sentence. But the New York Daily News says they "didn't help their son's case by slamming slain CIA hero Johnny (Mike) Spann's father, who blames the Muslim convert for failing to stop Spann's gruesome death in a 2001 Afghan battle." John, told the Daily News Lindh's parents are "cowards" and blames the Walkers for "failing to warn" their son that "a violent uprising was in the works." Spann also opposes any commutation of Lindh's remaining 13 years saying, "I thought he ought to have got the damned electric chair." See story here.
