Arkansas: Request
The Northwest Arkansas Times reports 72 year old Shirley Marie Curry is asking Gov. Mike Beebe to commute her life sentence in order to make her eligible for parole. Curry was convicted for the 1974 murders of ex-husband, her three children and a former sister-in law. It is reported that Curry has submitted such requests seven times previously. The prosecutor in the case (who is not a Circuit Judge) will object to the application which says Curry simply "cracked up and shot them" when a custody hearing did not go her way and the children testified against her.
