So how did it go?
The civil trial featured seven defendants who were employees of the Winnebago County Jail when an inmate committed suicide. I heard all the evidence, testimony and statements and then declared an "alternate juror" and sent home. That is to say, I did not go in with the jury to deliberate. Here is a video clip if you like:
