Obama Passes Eisenhower and Bush

President Obama has passed Dwight Eisenhower and George H.W. Bush in the ranking of presidents who have been the slowest to use the pardon power. See chart here. Only three presidents in the last 200 years have been slower than: Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Select company indeed! Meanwhile, the Obama administration has not been shy about recommending / demanding clemency from other world leaders. See stories here and here.

I applied for a pardon through the Office of the Pardon Attorney in March of this year. About two weeks ago (the first part of August), the FBI began conducting their background check on me. Hopefully this means the administration has begun to move forward with the pardon process.

I am the person who posted the previous comment on August 20th.

The FBI is still conducting interviews of my character references. They conducted one yesterday (9/14) and they are trying to schedule an interview with the last reference sometime this week. They have already interviewed myself, my neighbors (past and present), my employer as well as a couple of other character references.
