Obama to Pardon Polanski?

According to this article, Hillary Clinton will be approached to ask President Barack Obama for a presidential pardon on behalf of Roman Polanski. The 76-year-old film director arrived in Switzerland to accept an award when he was seized by authorities. In 1978, he plead guilty to having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, but fled the United States before sentencing.

The President cannot pardon Polanski.

The President can only pardon crimes that fall under Federal Juristiction. The President *cannot* pardon crimes that fall under State or Local juristiction.

Polanski was charged and convicted under California Law, only the Governor of California can pardon him.

He should be held accountable for his actions.
