Watch List: Johnson Down for the Count?

The CBS News blog reports that it appears as though President Obama will align himself with the long-standing, common-sense policies of the Department of Justice and will refrain - at least for now - from using the pardon power as a cheap tool of congressional symbolic politics. That is to say, he will use the pardon power to the benefit of living persons, suffering disability and in need as opposed to using it to benefit of posing politicians or person's like former boxing legend Jack Johnson, who is dead, is suffering no disability and never felt the need to apply for a pardon while alive. Do you think we are getting close to the President granting any pardons?

Would be nice to see Obama give some relief. There are plenty that deserve it. I know my application was submitted in June 2008.

I submitted my application this year. The FBI has interviewed all of my references, my current neighbors, some neighbors from my previous address as well as my employer (actually came to the office and interviewed my references from there as well as a few additional people). They have also interviewed myself.

They completed all of these interviews about two months ago, I have not heard anything since then. Hope something happens soon.

My application was submitted late August 2008 and entered into the system in October 2008. The FBI started there interview in 2/2009 and finished 4/2009. Came back to me in 8/2009 for a few questions the pardon office wanted answered and give the FBI one week to return the answers. Made me believe things were looking good. Since then all I do is wait. I have to say that my pardon application was handled quickly and professionally by all the parties. I did not use a lawyer for this process. Keep the faith!
