France Asks Texas for Mercy

Bernard Valero, the French ambassador to the United States is calling on the governor of Texas to pardon a death row inmate Hank Skinner, who is scheduled to die Wednesday. Skinner was found guilty of killing a girlfriend and her two adult sons in 1993, but maintains his innocence. Skinner also has a French wife. France is firmly opposed to the death penalty. See story here.

Hard to believe that there are no comments. Maybe everyone is waiting on someone to get the ball rolling. If that's the case then I'll go first.

Mr. Ambassador Valero, thank you for doing what the elected cowards here in Texas refused to do. If this man is guilty then he must pay for it with his life. If the evidence that holds him guilty isn't tested then he's not guilty, which makes him simply wrongfully convicted.

Sir you are a true Public Hero, therefore, I would like to nominate you for the prestigious PROJECT: Not Guilty 'Public Hero' Award. Thank you.
