International: A Simple Solution

This news from Jakarta (the capital and largest city of Indonesia): The House of Representatives and the Justice and Human Rights Ministry have changed the system of clemency through the revision of Law no.22/2002. It is reported that this "had" to be done because there are "2,106 requests for clemency that have not been taken care [of]." The key provision is article 7 point 2. The party that is in charge of examining and implementing clemency requests and conveying them to the president, is the Justice and Human Rights Minister. The new law regulates a deadline of a maximum of one year from the time the decision is enacted. The Justice and Human Rights Minister are said to have "welcomed the ratification of the law."
