Forbes on Obama

At Forbes, Walter Pavlo politley writes (among other things):
President Obama needs to step up to the plate and issue a pardon that is more meaningful than sparing the life of a few Thanksgiving turkeys.  Prisons are full of non-violent, first time offenders that are worthy of at least a commutation of a few years based on draconian sentencing guidelines that gave them decades in prison.   If nothing else, he can issue the clemencies under the guise of budget cuts.

Unfortunately, the leaked editorial perpetuates a myth:
"George W. Bush pardoned his buddy Lewis “Scooter” Libby who was found guilty by a jury for leaking classified information on the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame."

Not quite on either count. Libby wasn't given a full pardon, his sentence was commuted, and he wasn't convicted by the jury of leaking classified information, but of making false statements and obstructing the investigation into said leaking.

Obama gave out nine pardons and nobody cares about it. I think it's a pretty funny joke on the pardons he issued that leaves very little to write about as predicted.
