The Chicago Tribune reports Governor Pat Quinn has granted 50 pardons related to applications filed between 2003 and 2009. Former Governor Rod Blagojevich left a pile more than 2,500 behind. To date, Quinn has acted on 1,356 clemency petitions and granted clemency in 517 instances. He has also commuted the death sentences of 15 men to life in prison when the death penalty was abolished earlier this year. See story here.
