The Lincoln Journal Star reports that 48 year old Kendra Williams-Russell, who is seeking to become a "mental health counselor," has been granted a pardon via the unanimous vote of the State's Board of Pardons. The Board (consisting of Gov. Dave Heineman, Secretary of State John Gale, and Attorney General Jon Bruninghas) recently considered about 50 applications and it is reported that the process takes "about a year from the time an application is received."
